Freedom Writers Initiative

Program Objective

The project facilitates skills for Indonesian youth from various background, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, network, organizational and technological aptitude necessary for them to write, speak out and advocate against intolerance, sectarianism, discrimination and violent persecution against vulnerable demographic groups in Indonesia.

Structure of Activities

The program consists of 16 (sixteen) sessions over the course of 4 (four) months. The program's activities include (a) a series of weekend workshops, (b) a series of online and offline lectures and learning sessions, (c) publication-related project assignments, and (d) a "reprogram" event celebrating the latest batch of writers, connecting them with program alumni from previous years.
